Laurence Isaacson CBE, Chairman of L'Escargot

Laurence opened his first restaurant Le Café des Amis du Vin in Covent Garden in 1983 with. Subsequently Laurence co-founded Group Chez Gerard with Neville and ran over 2 dozen restaurants in the UK; The group was named Caterer and Hotelkeeper Group Restaurateurs of the Year. Laurence co-owned the highly rated Paris Commune restaurant in New York.  He was a founding director of Home House private members club. He was awarded a C.B.E. for his services to the restaurant business.

Laurence is heavily involved in the world of theatre- previously a shareholder and director of the Ambassador Theatre Group and for ten years a director and Governor of The Royal Shakespeare Company. He co-founded the Covent Garden Opera Festival. He is currently Chairman of the World Cancer Research Fund.
